About the event
2027 is a Compostela Holy Year, which occurs when 25 July, the feast of Saint James, falls on a Sunday; the tradition dates back to 1122 and Pope Callixtus II. During the Holy Year pilgrims who reach Santiago along the Camino can obtain the Jubilee by visiting the Apostle's tomb in the cathedral.
